2010 All-American Senior Kid

WINTER (born on the winter solstice) is our beautiful "Butterfly" nine year-old that has drawn a lot of attention from other exhibitors for her unique butterfly pattern on her show-side profile. She has also gotten the attention of the judges for her length of body, dairy style and beautiful mammary!

She earned her first championship leg as a senior kid at the Idaho Syringa DGA in Boise (pictured below) and was named an All-American. Her first senior doe show was the 2011 District VII Alpine Specialty where she was 1st/1st udder. She was also senior champion and best udder at the Thurston County Fair for her second leg. The littermate to our 2010 Spotlight Sale consignment buck, TAHOMA, WINTER looks to have a winning future and we love her TRONA-like, friendly personality. She is easily a favorite!

WINTER finished her championship at the first show of 2012 at the Lelia Berry Memorial and placed 8th at the National Show. As a 3rd freshener she was shown in the Challenge class at the ISDGA Syringa weekend winning BOB three times. She also moved-up two placings at the ADGA National Show where her daughter was 3rd place junior kid. At age 6, we have three milking daughters in the herd. A highlight of the year was her BIS win at the Lelia Berry Memorial with all of her daughters winning their milking classes!

In the fall of 2016 we had a month of infertility issues with our two natural service bucks and couldn't seem to get anyone bred...and this included WINTER. We had almost decided to give her the year off but she obviously had other plans and settled for a very late June freshening date. She had a great pregnancy and looked better than ever. She kidded four days after our appraisal session and milked over 12 pounds on her first milk test at 7 days fresh. The thrill of my dairy goat career was when she won the Aged Doe class at the 2017 ADGA National Show, the National Championship title couldn't have went to a better friend as she is certainly our MVP just like her dam TRONA before her. Her 2016 daughter TEEMANT was the Junior National Champion and she paired with 2014 daughter TIMANTTI for first place Dam & Daughter group.

Now retired from showing, I promised her things would be on her terms from now on. So she decided to take 2018 off and didn't kid. In 2019 she had triplets and is milking very well and I'm happy to have another daughter for myself! She is an excellent brood doe with 3 champion daughters to-date in TEMIR, TIMANTTI and TEEMANT. Her 2017 daughter TEEPLE appraised VG89 as a long-yearling who looks to potentially become her 4th champion daughter.
