~3rd Milking Yearling @ Washington State Fair

"ZIPPY" is my first keeper CRAFTY daughter and I want more just like her! She is the only offspring of her dam, TERSKITA who I lost as a first freshening 2 year-old when ZIPPY was born. I have no photos of her in-milk but the mammary was very correct, unfortunately there are no performance records beyond her DNA typing.

Not shown until she was a springing, dry yearling, ZIPPY was junior champion & best in show her first time out. She freshened later that August with an attractive mammary and was 3rd at the Washington State Fair at only 3 weeks fresh. With my election as ADGA President that October, she was quickly dried-up due to time constraints (that is the reason she was only on DHIR for 114 days). An unsuccessful AI breeding resulted her freshening in mid-June 2023 so she missed all of the spring shows leading-up to the ADGA National Show. She was milking well & looking beautiful, and I was excited to show her in Redmond but she sustained a serious shoulder injury the day before the Alpine show (rowdy Alpines in small penning) and was scratched. Appraisal was just 6 days after the national show and this injury did have some impact on her appraisal score, but I wanted her scored anyway because she freshened after our 2022 session so that she can have a PTI calculated in December.

Zippy has had some setbacks, but she looks beautiful in the pasture and got a lot of attention from those visiting our pens at the National Show. Fingers crossed we can get a good picture at the state fair so you can see her too.

I created her page by copying her aunt, TEEPLE's page, so the photos below are an assortment of the maternal line.
