CLAIRE is a well-balanced doe that has seen very little show ring exposure due to her mid-summer birthdate and uncooperative past breeding. Not shown as a kid, she won her restricted leg at the Treasure Valley Luau for her maturity & body capacity as a yearling. She freshened last fall in November for the first time and her udder is as beautiful as one would expect when combining CINABRE and CHRYSTIN in her pedigree.
To her disadvantage at the 2011 shows, she was a first frehening three year-old for the second half of the season. Combined with freshening more than four months earlier than most of the herd, she looked a little stale at appraisal. None-the-less our appraiser was impressed...and so are we. We feel a second and a consecutive freshening at a more "normal" time of year will be more advantageous for 2012.
