CHIP is the doe that I feel represents my breeding philosophy the best in the herd. Her pedigree reflects careful consideration for trait improvement in each generation through diligent sire research and selection for each doe. In 2015 she had a good show season winning a Best in Show title at the Boise ISDGA Syringa weekend and placed 6th at the National Show (pictured below). She was not the fanciest kid of the year but really exhibited all the traits advertised by her sire's type evaluation. I honestly can't believe more breeders have not considered using JOURNEY in their American Alpine breeding program, the data is great and this doe (and her littermate @ TIDE LAND) is going to show that he is still relevant! ;-)
CHIP was another of our fall yearling fresheners and boy was I excited with her udder. She too was linear appraised at only 4 days fresh, impressively she scored V or E in ALL structural categories including feet! In her rear udder photo below (one month after appraisal), you can see her ideal teat diameter & placement. She placed right behind ARANY at the Washington State Fair as 2nd/2nd Udder Milking Yearling.
